Francis Albrew, is an emerging Australian artist based in Brisbane, Queensland. Francis has been a keen artist all her life and has been creating artworks since her teenage years. Francis’ pieces reflect the twists and turns of life and how the journey defines each person, how each relationship influences ones path.
In the past four years this artist has been defining her own style through the experimentation of different techniques, including the use of traditional media, new ideas, found objects and digital images. By using a range of oils, acrylics, watercolours, sculptures, installation, jewellery and photography, she does not hold herself to any one medium, but rather uses what is best suited to the idea and concept undertaken at that time. Through the experimentation of colours and textures Francis has been able to develop her drawing, painting and installation skills and as a result has created unique pieces that are just “enjoyable” to view. But whether she creates a piece through a camera lens, or splashing paint on a canvas, Francis’ believes “sometimes art is just about having fun”.
